General

Most of our products are ordered specifically to your requirements. This is for several reasons - for example prices and specifications can vary frequently and items can be easily superceded. We can usually supply very quickly (often direct from the manufacturer) and so it is often just as quick as if we had the items in stock. Stock/availability levels shown here are given in good faith only, it is possible that there is no availability at the time of your order due to other people ordering from suppliers.

However, by supplying to your requirements we keep the costs down and you get the latest version of the equipment or software. Specific information is given below, if you have any queries please contact us.

Delivery charges

We charge as close as we can to the cost prices plus a very small fee for handling and packaging. If for some reason your order comes up as having free postage then this is a mistake and the order will not be processed. Please contact us so we can fix the issue, but as far as we know there are no problems with this.

EPoS equipment

The stock levels shown for Electronic Point of Sale equipment in the shop are an amalgamation of our own stock and the availability at source. We try to keep these levels accurate to every 2-3 days or so, but if you are ordering one item and there is only one showing which you desperately need, it could be worthwhile contacting us first to double check availability. We will of course inform you if the item is not available when you've tried to order it but we do not want disappointed customers! Similarly if you are ordering many of the same item, we can always double check current levels for you in advance.

Shipping - the Direct options (in one or two working-days) give you an easy (and consistently priced) choice for carriage if your order consists solely of EPoS equipment. The order is shipped directly to yourself, keeping everyone's costs down. We need to order before around 14:30 UK time to get in-stock orders despatched that day but if we are really busy then this might not be possible. Orders can be split if some of the items are out of stock but you pay carriage on each delivery - please contact us for details.

For smaller/lighter items the postage can be charged at normal postage rates however delivery will take longer as we have to get the items into stock first and then repost them which could add at least a week to the delivery times. However if you are not in a hurry this shipping method can be cheaper.

EPoS equipment showing as having 0 stock levels are usually special order items and these can take 3-4 weeks to become available - we will contact you to discuss your requirements should you order items with no stock availability showing to make sure you are happy to wait that long, for example.

Hardware/Software

As with EPoS items, most standard hardware is not stocked as it is readily available and constantly changing. Again we can normally ship directly so it wouldn't take any longer than if we had it available to hand. Monitors, printers, scanners, hard drives etc. all fall into this category.

Stock levels (usually adjusted weekly) are currently only a guide as suppliers' databases do not always give the necessary information. Again, you can contact us before ordering to check exact details if necessary. Some items (for example Sibelius products) are normally shipped directly, cutting down costs and ensuring you always get the latest version.

RISC OS specific information

Most Acorn/RISC OS items showing as being in stock are actually in stock. Exceptions are mentioned in the product descriptions, e.g. ArtWorks is shipped directly from the supplier so again you always get the latest version. Hard drives can be initialised for you (see the product descriptions) which will add a few days' turnaround if not getting shipped directly.
